Summary: "A Great product"

I have used the S510 at my office and have found that this scanner was perfect for home use. Its size and ease of connection were a plus in allowing it to be stored when not in use. Workes great with Mac and PC platforms.

Summary: "Document/Picture Scanning"

Great little scanner that scans anything you can put through the rollers. The software is the best I've ever used. There are so many options and the set up was brainless, really. No more lifting the cover and placing a document in the scanner, hitting a button and waiting. With is scanner all you do is load a stack of documents hit a button and your done. Compact, easy to use and priced at; "you get what you pay for", this is a good investment.

Summary: "Scan Snap Scanner"

I bought the S1300 Scan Snap Scanner. This is an awesome little machine and is very portable. It does seem to have a problem (maybe it's me) but you have to really make sure papers are straight before scanning. The feeder area isn't very deep and you have to be very precise when loading papers in. It takes more time to fan papers and load them than it does to actually scan them. Software works fine. I find the scanner at times tries to grab more than one sheet, but if fanned properly and you take the time to load it right, then this problem diminishes.

I paid for Amazon overnight shipping, however, I did not receive it overnight. It took two days to receive my package. It was easy to install.

My only complaint is that the device won't scan a drivers license, which can be a handy thing for me. Our drivers licenses are too thick to feed through.

The scanner does do what it says it would, is portable, scans both sides. Not great on pictures, but that's not what I bought this for anyhow. It's a good machine. I wish I had bought the bigger one.

Summary: "Amazing Scanner - Check the Accessories"

The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300 does what's advertised. It is fast and extremely easy to use. The OCR feature is also quick allowing you to turn hard copies into soft copies with little to no errors.
HOWEVER, after using the scanner for a month on my Mac, it would intermittently stop communicating with the computer. After connecting with another computer, same result. I emailed Fujitsu and NO response. After downloading some pictures from my camera, I tried a different 5 pin USB and this solved all the issues.
Overall, if it wasn't for a defective USB cable and no support, I would give it the maximum 5 stars.
